Mister Dog by MCA
AVAILABLE From the artist:"I am Crispin's Crispian and I belong to myself." My inspiration for this show was the Little Golden Book 'Mister Dog' by Margaret Wise Brown & illustrated by Garth Williams (1952). My earliest memory of reading or getting read to or even just books in general would be the old, slightly worn Little Golden Books at my Grandmother's house. The pictures alone brought you on a journey as you flipped through the pages, even not being able to read on my own - it didn't matter. These books started a great love for stories through images & of great animals with human qualities that you wanted to be friends with. Crispin Crispian was one of these characters I wanted to go on adventures with ( & the fact he smoked a corn cob pipe was pretty cool). That, along with this story being a family favorite, is why I chose to paint a portrait of Mister Dog.
